The CIPCG has held two polymer clay retreats, one in 2006 and one in 2007. They were a full day of getting together to share our love for polymer clay. We do hope to hold more retreats in the future. But in the mean time, here are highlights from the two retreats we’ve had.
Our first retreat was an all-day affair at the AmericInn Lodge in Peoria Heights. We used their conference room, set up tables for our group so we could all have a place to work on our projects, and of course we needed a table for our food! Everyone brought food and we had a great lunch. We had hands-on demonstrations and some techniques to practice. After the retreat, we went and soaked in the hotel’s hot tub. It was a great event.
The following year we met at one of our members’ houses for the day. It was a great event, and we had a huge turnout. Everyone had made items to swap, but kept them secret and the swap items were divided into goodie bags so that each member got one thing that each other member had made. It was a great idea and we all loved it. There were a lot of projects and people were trying new techniques that they hadn’t thought of trying before.
